About us

TEAM is the nation’s first official non-profit organization dedicated to empowering teens with Misophonia.

Whether you're a teen with Misophonia, a parent looking for help, an educator seeking the latest information, or a stakeholder who wants to be more involved, TEAM can help.

As our name implies, we want to increase education on the condition of Misophonia and make a change in the community.

Our Founder’s Story

Sophie B. Yang

has had misophonia since the age of 11 and has always seen the world a little bit differently. She carries a keen sense of curiosity, passion, and a desire to learn more. However, as her misophonia manifested, she struggled to cope with the condition, feeling isolated at an early age because of it. By founding TEAM, she hopes to bring other teens her age a sense of comfort and reassurance. This name is a nod to her journey with misophonia--her unique way of advocating for herself and others to the best of her ability. TEAM stands as a testament to the power of community, knowledge, and charge for change.

Sophie B. Yang is a high-school sophomore, living and studying in Brea, California.
